Living with Purpose Day Program:

Living with Purpose (LWP) is an adult day program for individuals with developmental disabilities, ages 18 and up. Our program offers a variety of supports and services that focus on fostering independence and achieving individualized goals. We provide weekly sessions in independent living skills, social skills, functional math and reading, cooking, personal health, community and relationship safety, therapeutic art, prevocational skills, and fitness. We encourage community involvement in order to promote and facilitate positive interactions with our community members. This setting can also integrate additional therapies and services such as homemaker enhanced.

Behavior Services:

Behavior services include direct 1:1 implementation of the behavior support plan under the supervision of a behavior consultant. This service addresses challenging behaviors that may put the individual’s health and safety, or the safety of others, at risk. This can be implemented in the home, community, or in center. This service can include transportation as long as it is approved in advance. Behavior consultation services are required in tandem with behavior line services to provide training as well as ongoing program maintenance and collaboration with the team.

Homemaker:

GoldStar Learning Options strives to ensure that each individual is as independent as possible so that they may lead a meaningful and purposeful life. Homemaker services offer personalized supports necessary to develop and maintain the skills needed for daily personal care and household responsibilities, including functional cooking and cleaning skills.

Mentorship:

Mentorship services provide guidance, support, and advocacy to assist individuals in understanding how to navigate complex situations in adult life such as medical needs, housing, social security, food stamps, and completion of paperwork.

Vocational Services:

GoldStar Learning Options offers job coaching with trained staff that provide intensive, ongoing supports and guidance that enable participants to access community integrated employment.

DVR Services: The Division of Vocational Rehabilitation is a state agency that provides resources and programs that help adults with disabilities enter or re-enter the workforce. DVR contracts with GoldStar and other agencies to provide one-on-one guidance in securing and maintaining employment.

GoldStar has been extremely helpful and supportive to our family.  They have helped us attain various services and therapies for our son that have enabled him to have a more active and fulfilling daily life, not only when he's attending GoldStar, but at home as well.
